Program Manager of Prevention

culture of physical and mental wellness for Lee’s Summit youth and families that inspires positive, healthy choices.

The role of the non-clinical Program Manager of Prevention is designed to reflect the importance of community
engagement that includes youth and adults to ensure their active voice in coalition planning and prevention program
implementation. The Manager will work in partnership with all sectors of the community to create and deliver youth and
family-focused programming and education for the prevention of youth substance use, self-harm and suicide.

TITLE: Program Manager of Prevention
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SALARY STATUS: Full time (40 hour work week), Exempt
WORK PLACE: In-office

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as project manager, presenter and organizer to develop systems and procedures to enhance community and volunteer engagement and mobilization, and enhance prevention initiatives for school-age youth and their families.
  • Lead and increase partnerships focused on preventing risky behaviors among youth and supporting parent education.
  • Lead project teams.
  • Develop and manage new and existing prevention projects.
  • Manage outreach and relationships with school personnel and other partners served by LSC.
  • Serve as the staff adult advisor for LSC’s Youth Advisory Board.
  • Support the creation and delivery of consistent prevention messages and communication pieces across all LSC platforms.
  • Monitor local, regional, state and national policy issues related to substance use and access and mental health that will impact local youth.
  • Collect and disseminate community data on local youth to community partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills managing diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Advanced communication/presentation skills; strong writing skills; strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites, and in managing social networks
  • Availability to work occasional early mornings, evenings and Saturdays
  • Must reside in Jackson County, Missouri or within the boundaries of Lee’s Summit R-7 school district
  • Frequent travel in Lee’s Summit and the Kansas City metro area
  • Valid Driver’s License and minimum state-required auto insurance
  • Overnight travel for training 2–3 times a year
  • Exemplify professional prevention ethics to include role modeling of healthy choices (i.e., no use of nicotine, marijuana or other drugs, no misuse of prescription or OTC drugs, responsible alcohol consumption).
The final candidate must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to beginning employment. Candidate must
show proof of current vaccinations. Salary range is $35,000 - $45,000, depending on experience. Please submit a cover
