PREP-KC Academy Alumni Outreach Facilitator
PREP-KC was founded in 2005 as Kansas City’s leading urban education intermediary. Its’ mission is to increase college-readiness and access to high-quality employment for nearly 50,000 mostly low-income students served by six of Kansas City’s bi-state urban school districts and four charter schools. PREP-KC Career Academy students receive intensive postsecondary preparation that integrates a stackable set of college courses, career-readiness credentials/certificates, and project-based experiences into the high school course-of-study. The student experience is customized based on their college and career goals. The support received in a Career Academy engages students in real-world learning and equips them to earn Market Value Assets (MVAs). MVAs are defined as industry-valued and recognized skills acquired in high school that create a more seamless transition from school to postsecondary education and/or the workplace. Student experiences that provide a significant scope of real-world problem-solving, communication and collaboration with people beyond the school walls are essential drivers of MVAs.
The PREP-KC Academy Alumni Outreach Facilitator will primarily be responsible for assisting with planning, implementation, data entry, evaluation, and logistics for a specialized academy alumni engagement project to determine program impact. In addition to assisting with the data entry and evaluation, the Facilitator will be responsible for academy alumni interfacing via digital, social, and focus group mediums. The primary goals of this position are: 1) Develop and update a database of PREP-KC academy alumni, 2) Recruit alumni for participation in follow-up focus groups, surveys, and interviews, 3) Coordinate logistics of academy alumni follow-up activities and 4) Assist in collection of responses from academy alumni and organize a concise report of the findings.
