Activities Director

As the SOAR Activities Director at SOAR Special Needs you can expect to oversee and build teams to shepherd the participants and families of the SOAR (children through adults with special needs) organization. You will also communicate, create, develop and provide vision for the department with support and collaboration from a team of volunteers and directors.
Responsibilities

  • Recruit, build, train, and lead teams of servant leaders including volunteers
  • Oversees the planning and coordinating SOAR R&R (Respite), SOAR Camp, and all SOAR events. All events will be both in-person and virtual.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating the Wonderfully Made Special Needs Conference, both in-person and virtual.
  • Manage and be the champion for the volunteer process and build a team to handle recruitment and training
  • Track SOAR Volunteer requirements
  • Oversee Volunteer Training
  • Oversee SOAR CRM – DonorPerfect – ensure all volunteers, participants, church partners are entered into the system
  • Oversee making volunteer SOAR assignments for all events
  • Oversee recruitment for volunteers and their assignment for all events
  • Build a team of volunteers for each major area of SOAR R&R
  • Oversee the planning meetings for SOAR R&R
  • Oversee the SOAR Camp Director 
  • Work with SOAR Camp Director in developing teams
  • Build a team of volunteers for each major area of SOAR Camp
  • Assist with the SOAR Camp Director in leading the planning meetings for camp
  • Collaborate with partner churches and ensure good relationships
  • Oversee SOAR social media accounts and work with the rest of the team in promoting events, functions, and stories
  • Collaborate and assist with KC Special Needs Ministry Network
  • Mentor at least one person in their Spiritual and Leadership Development
  • Lead and participate in monthly SOAR Leadership meetings
  • Oversee the development of the SOAR R&R budget and manage spending within those budgets
  • Manage all promotion requests and facility requests for all SOAR R&R events and functions
  • Provide leadership alongside other SOAR Directors for the SOAR organization
  • Work to find new locations to host SOAR R&R events
  • Assist with development of curriculum
  • Assist with all fundraising planning and events
  • Stay current on ministry trends
  • Assist SOAR Executive Director with other projects as assigned

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
