Family Support Services Coordinator

The Family Support Services Coordinator provides trauma-informed psychoeducation to caregivers through voluntary two session in-home meetings.  The Coordinator is responsible for assessing and delivering the child’s screening results to caregivers and supports their understanding of how the child has been impacted by past events.
 
Job Responsibilities
The Coordinator conducts quality developmental, emotional/behavioral and parenting assessments for each client, parent and/or family, appropriately interprets testing tools to inform recommendations for interventions and utilizes a formal checklist to guide conversations on broad and specific child needs. The Coordinator interprets testing tools to inform recommendations for intervention, provides case management with collateral agencies and makes appropriate referrals to community agencies on behalf of the client and family being served. The Coordinator coordinates services by provided by members of The Children’s Place and provides professional court testimony as subpoenaed. Also provides outpatient therapy to clients including individual, play and family therapy, behavioral assessment and group work.
 
Skills, Experience and Education
Masters degree in Social Work or mental health field required
Two years or related work experience
Licensure in the State of Missouri
Previous management experience
Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of child abuse/neglect and the role of the mandated reporter
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with child development (ages 0-8)
Familiarity with community resources and ability to travel within the community
Working knowledge of DSM-IV
