Project Coordinator

Connections to Success (CtS) is seeking a full time, Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This Kansas City based position is responsible for the overall delivery of programs and activities of The Return 2 Success initiative, working with returning citizens both pre and post release, in accordance with the mission and the goals of Connections to Success. Reporting to the Regional Program Director, The Project Coordinator oversees all aspects of the overall project and its activities, including the implementation, execution and achievement of goals and objectives and will implement a performance management process for project staff to ensure all goals are met. The Project Coordinator will maintain a relationship with staff, participants, and community partners to ensure services are provided in a seamless and consistent manner. Work closely with all project partners to ensure goals are being met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.

  • Work closely with Department of Corrections staff to coordinate recruitment, training, mentor, and coaching activities

  • Develop forms and records to document program activities, as needed.

  • In consultation with the Regional Program Director, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff.

  • Oversee & lead project staff by providing direction, input, and feedback.

  • Communicate with community partners to gain support and to solicit input to improve community efforts.

  • Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Serve as CtS Representative on community initiatives, taskforces, and workgroups as relevant to the program and mission of the CtS.

  • Work with Community Outreach Coordinator/Mentor Coordinator to ensure eligible participants are enrolled into the project and assign to a Life Transformation Coach.

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.

  • Track and analyze project performance, cost performance and schedule. Report to the respective leaders on the changes within the project and be able to suggest improvements, if needed.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Schedules and leads regular quarterly meetings with all partners to share project updates and receive feedback on services.

  • Ensure that project outcomes are being met or exceeded

  • Maintains an objective, reliable and consistent database of information on program metrics and outcomes for the program.

  • Collaborates with Program Team to facilitate Connect Group activities, Professional Women’s Group, Professional Men’s Group, Career Connections, employment and training services and other participant engagement activities as needed

  • Coordinates with team the delivery of the SUPPORT 4 FAMILIES curriculum; including the regular scheduling of training to meet the needs of identified participant families and necessary logistics, as well as ensure staff training is complete

  • Maintain confidentiality of all participant and mentor information

  • Provides timely and relevant reports to Regional Program Director regarding the status of the goals and objectives.

  • Completes all required reports and summaries on time and submits to Regional Program Director.

  • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress toward goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.

  • Provide Leadership to program staff with compassion and professionalism.

  • Oversee the creation and execution of a recruitment strategy

  • Efficient in use of office equipment including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, telephone, voicemail, photocopier.

  • Serve in other duties, roles, responsibilities as needed by the organization to fulfill its mission.

  • Supervises: Life Transformation Coach(es), Mentor Coordinator, Job Coach

  • Internal Relationships: All Staff

  • External Relationships:  Potential Participants, Potential Volunteers, Potential Mentors, Prospective Employers, Guest Speakers, Partner Organizations, Referring Agencies, Community Organizations, Government Agencies &, Educational Institutions

Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited educational institution (4 years of social service case management experience may be used in lieu of education.)

  •  Interpersonal skills, including an ability to have a good relationship with people of diverse backgrounds and facilitate conflict resolution.

  • Public speaking experience and skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint). Experience with government reporting databases preferred.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner.

  • Prior experience working with diverse adult populations, community-based organizations, and incarcerated population is preferred.

  • Leadership experience and a knowledge base in performance management is preferred.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and program evaluation.

  • Experienced in preparing thorough and complete reports for dissemination to funders, leadership, and the community.

  • Knowledge of motivational strategies, and an empathetic manner working with the underserved re-entrant population.


Position is full-time, 40 hour per week, exempt position. Employee will be eligible for full benefits including health, retirement, and vacation benefits. We invite potential candidates with incarceration/ criminal justice system history apply.

Starting Salary Range: $48,000 to $52,000 and is contingent on qualifications/experience.
