Founded in 1969 by the Daughters of Charity and the Ladies of Charity of Metropolitan Kansas City, Seton
Center, a Community Health Ministry of Ascension Health, is dedicated to serving neighbors in need in
Kansas City’s urban core.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Seton Center has evolved into a comprehensive community and
neighborhood center providing a food pantry, rent and utility assistance, thrift store, and one of Kansas City’s
largest safety net dental clinics.
Seton Center is funded through foundation grants, donations from individuals, corporations, civic groups and
faith communities, and fees for dental services.

What you will do:
The Volunteer Coordinator will administer all aspects of Seton’s volunteer program including recruiting,
training, and supervising volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will also coordinate all aspects of Seton’s
internship program. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, this position will be a strong leader and will
oversee all seasonal volunteers and interns.

- Recruits, interviews, screens, trains, and supervises (or assigns) volunteer and intern staff.
- Communicates with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities and needs for volunteers and interns.
- Schedules, coordinates, and assigns volunteers and interns to appropriate departments, supervisors, and/or mentors.
- Regularly communicates with volunteers to ensure placement is a good fit for the individual's skills and goals and to ensure scheduling accuracy.
- Maintains files, records, applications, and other data concerning volunteer program
- Drafts, maintains, and publishes guidelines, best practices, and procedures for volunteer and internshipprogram
- Coordinates volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.
- Formalize current volunteer management systems in order to develop improved systems and databases
- Research and develop a strategy for quantitative and qualitative data gathering regarding volunteer demographics, hours & experiences in relationship to overall program goals while implementing sustainability measures and program continuity plan
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent years of applicable work experience
- 2+ years experience in volunteer coordination
- Commitment to Seton’s mission statement and values
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and encourage others
- Competency in a variety of computer applications; knowledge of Volgisitics, Google Suite, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people
Compensation: $45,000-50,000
Work Location: Seton Center is open Monday through Friday and work will take place on site at Seton
Center, 2816 E 23rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64127.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
