DESCRIPTION:Embracing Your Role as Mythbuster\, Change Agent\, and Leader\n\n\n\nAre you a volunteer manager who's ready to take your engagement to the next level? Join us to enhance your volunteer leadership skills even further\, and in turn\, expand the value and impact of volunteer engagement in your organization.\n\n\n\nYour work has the potential to bring an abundance of skills\, talent\, and resources into your organization. As you lead and influence change to help your organization fulfill its mission through volunteer engagement\, you may encounter challenges.\n\n\n\nIn this session\, presenter Beth Steinhorn\, President\, VQ Volunteer Strategies\, will explore:\n\n	What it means to have a Culture of Engagement\n	Building support for Strategic Engagement\n	Models for becoming an effective leader/change agent\n	Embracing your role as leader/change agent\n\nYou'll leave with a personal action plan to build leadership support\, influence peers\, and/or lead by example\, so that you can embrace your role as mythbuster\, change agent\, and leader.\n\n\n\nOnly open to graduates of Volunteer Management Institute and/or volunteer managers with 5 or more years of relevant experience.\n\n\n\nRegistration includes materials\, lunch and snacks. Pre-registration is required.\n\n \nPresenter: \n\n\nBeth Steinhorn\, President\, VQ Strategies\, partners with organizations and their leadership to increase their impact through strategic and innovative engagement. The author of multiple books and articles on strategic volunteer engagement\, she is a popular speaker and trainer\, known for her interactive and inspiring presentations. As a thought leader\, Beth regularly participates in the national dialogue about volunteerism and engagement. As a Service Enterprise Trainer\, she has trained and supported dozens of organizations to become certified Service Enterprises.\n\n\n\nPrior to becoming a consultant\, Beth worked as an executive director and marketing director for education and faith-based organizations and spent years working with museums as an educator\, manager\, and anthropologist. \n\n \nCancellation/Program Policies:\nNo refunds will be processed after July 24. No shows will be billed. Please note when registering if you have dietary restrictions. Nonprofit Connect may take photographs or videos at public events\, so we ask that you read our Privacy Policy for more information.\n\n \nParking Instructions:\nNonprofit Connect is located in the KCPT building under the big red tower. Please park in one of the two lots directly north and across 31st Street from the station\, leaving the main lot for KCPT staff and visitors with disabilities.
