Volunteer Management Institute, Fall 2019
The Volunteer Management Institute (VMI) is an intensive certification program that provides training in the core concepts of volunteer management. The training offered as part of the program is designed to sharpen and develop the skills of anyone involved in the important task of volunteer management for a nonprofit organization.
The two day workshop will be valuable for the novice volunteer manager just learning the ropes or the seasoned veteran wanting to brush up on the basics. Attendance at all sessions on both days is required for certification. Registration includes all materials, meals and snacks.
Topics include:
- developing a volunteer program,
- volunteer recruitment,
- volunteer training,
- volunteer support, supervision, and retention,
- volunteer motivation and recognition,
- developing boundaries and managing conflict,
- and communication.
Cancellation/Program Policies:
No refunds will be processed after September 4. No shows will be billed. Please note when registering if you have dietary restrictions. Nonprofit Connect may take photographs or videos at public events, so we ask that you read our Privacy Policy for more information.Parking Instructions:
Nonprofit Connect is located in the KCPT building under the big red tower. Please park in one of the two lots directly north and across 31st Street from the station, leaving the main lot for KCPT staff and visitors with disabilities. Do not park in spaces marked AKC in the west side of the lot. Use caution when crossing the street.Related Programs:
