Purpose After Hours: Where Art Meets Purpose

Join us for Purpose After Hours on Friday, October 2 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Purpose Workshop in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District.

As part of October's First Friday celebration, we're opening our doors for an evening of art, conversation, and community featuring the imaginative photography of Kansas City artist Luke Pech.

Located at 2007 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108, The Purpose Workshop will transform into a gallery of tiny adventures and big creativity.

Meet the Artist: Luke Pech

Kansas City native Luke Pech (pronounced "Pesh") has a remarkable ability to find extraordinary stories in ordinary places. As the creative force behind Pech Photography, Luke is best known for his acclaimed series, Mini People on Big Adventures.

Using hand-painted miniature figurines placed within real-world environments, Luke creates playful scenes that invite viewers to see everyday objects through a completely different lens. A kitchen sink becomes a skate park. A can of sardines becomes a fishing hole. Flour becomes a snowy mountain range.

What makes his work even more impressive is that it's all created in-camera. There is no Photoshop, AI, or macro photography involved. Through careful composition and perspective, Luke transforms tiny HO-scale figurines into larger-than-life characters living out unforgettable adventures.

Tiny Worlds, Big Imagination

Luke's photography has been featured by major publications including Boston.com, The Boston Globe, and BUST Magazine, and his work has appeared in galleries, art markets, and private collections across the country.

Each image combines humor, craftsmanship, and imagination, encouraging viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover the wonder hidden in everyday life.

Purpose After Hours

Whether you're an art lover, a First Friday regular, or simply looking for a unique way to spend your evening in the Crossroads, Purpose After Hours offers the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow creatives and experience Luke's work in person.
