About Us
Holmes Garden Neighborhood Association
Neighborhood boundaries: East – Harrison St, West – Charlotte St, North – Bannister Rd, South – Indian Creek
In the past, some communities were simply places where people learned to survive. Disenfranchised neighborhoods, family trauma, and poverty have made it increasingly difficult to overcome challenges. The quality of life in the areas where we resided determined our access to good jobs, schools, and the impact of violence and crime on our lives.
Our mission is to provide safe and affordable housing, education, cultural enrichment, literacy programs, agricultural initiatives, crime prevention efforts, and mental health education for our residents. Our neighborhood focuses on strengthening families, empowering the community, and fostering social connections. During your time at Holmes Garden, we will assess your family’s needs, establish trust, enhance the family’s core, promote economic stability, and encourage healthy and mindful behaviors. If homeownership is a priority for you and your family, we will provide or help you find the necessary resources to achieve it. Additionally, we support the development of our families by engaging them in various activities, meetings, and events scheduled throughout the year.
The Resource Lab, located at 9543 Charlotte St. KCMO 64131, serves as the central hub for all meetings, events, the garden, and the library.
