The American Cancer Society's Kansas City Chairman’s Circle (CC) is intended to provide a diverse executive leadership forum for advancing the our life-saving mission. This advocacy includes assisting ACS staff by promoting program priorities and informing the public about ACS organizational priorities. Chairman’s Circle members will be asked to assist by advancing mission priorities, securing financial support, recognizing key contributors and building relationships with community leaders.

Board members at NourishKC are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies as well as by making sure adequate resources are available to advance its mission. the board also contributes to the organization’s culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability. Board members serve terms of three years; a board member may serve two consecutive terms.
URC has served 973 young men in grades 7-12 since our founding in 2005. Ninety-eight (98%) serve are African American and live in high-risk Kansas City neighborhoods which suffer from economic deprivation; high crime and violence rates; availability of drugs; low expectations/aspirations for school; and chronic absenteeism; 76% are from single parent households; 92% from low income households. This program year (June 2022 ? May 2023) we will work with 100 young men.
