About Us

Mesner Puppet Theater is a globally known professional puppet theatre company based in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to its local season of storytelling, the company tours nationally and performs regionally to more than 30,000 children and adults annually.

Mesner Puppet Theater performances are based on classic folk and fairytales with a contemporary, humorous twist. All puppets for performances are built in house. The shows are all family friendly and are appropriate for children and adults alike. Artistic Director Mike Horner and Founder Paul Mesner have more than 30 years of experience performing across the world. MPT also provides puppet workshops through our Puppets in Education program addressing social issues such as behavior, empathy and academic performance.
