About Us

The Northeast Community Center utilizes the universal language of music to develop young musicians and minds, partner with families, and build community in Kansas City. Programs include: Harmony Project KC, Care Services, and Path to College.

Harmony Project KC:
- Tuition-free and year-round quality music education
- Leveled instrument classes up to five hours of weekly leveled-instrument classes
- Ensemble rehearsals
- Chamber music programming
- Performance opportunities with world-renowned musicians
- Private lessons

Path to College:
- Connections to tutoring & school navigation support
- Individualized college counseling with the Hispanic Development Fund
- Workshops (FASFA, career discernment, scholarships)
- Board-designated $8k scholarship for every graduate

Care Services:
- Resource referrals and connections to partner organizations
- Group music therapy sessions
- Counseling sessions in partnership with Lutheran Family & Children Services
- ESL classes provided at no cost to families in partnership with Literacy KC
- Family Assistance Fund
- Back to School and Holiday gift distributions in partnership with area nonprofits
