The act of "Pressing the Pause Button" may refer to a variety of human events, such as work, relationships, and personal activities. Submitting to the Holy Spirit's leading allows the fruit of the Spirit to manifest. The process of "pausing" is described in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 and Galatians 5:22-23.
