About Us

Front Porch Alliance meets the changing needs of Eastside KCMO families and residents through three program pillars.

Neighborhood Families uses home visits to provide families with children (prenatal to 4yrs) with support and tools to become the parents and advocates they want to be. Program participants receive monthly diapers and wipes and can build community though bi-weekly playgroups and monthly parent socials. We run a federally funded Early Head Start program and a local-focused Promise 1000 Program.

Our seven Youth Journeys programs (ages 5-16) foster STEAM confidence and skills through intergenerational mentorship and experiential learning. These programs focus on robotics, financial literacy, music, videography, podcasting, and art.
Programs: Partners Active in Learning (PALs); FIRST Lego League Robotics; The Beat; Reading Inspirational Stories to Empower Change (RISE); Financial Literacy; Shark Tank; PORCH Storytellers; and Reel Collectors. Visit our website for more information.

Through Community Connections, we assist homeowners with minor home repairs. We provide adult education through Community Classes; we currently run a Sexual + Reproductive Health Class and are planning additional offerings based on community feedback. We also host Coat and Food Drives, Community Baby Showers, and Community Resource Fairs.
