About Us
Journey to New Life was founded after a group of individuals came together to share experiences, discuss challenges and offer solutions to address the most at risk ex-offender populations. In September of 2013, three members of that group - Rita Flynn, Sr. Rose McLarney and Georgia Walker established the agency. They believed at least four major categories of former offenders were being underserved. Thus, Journey to New Life was established to fill that gap - to create a welcoming service center in the central city where all would be welcome to receive housing assistance and emergency assistance. Since our founding we have served more than 2000 clients annually through emergency assistance, providing food, clothing, prescription assistance, identification, personal hygiene, and work related items.
