About Us

KKFI 90.1FM is an independent noncommercial community radio station broadcasting live since 1988, founded to broaden our listeners’ horizons while celebrating the diversity of our local and global communities by providing a platform for individuals and groups, issues, and music that are overlooked, underrepresented, or suppressed by mainstream media.

As a listener-supported, volunteer-powered nonprofit, KKFI serves people—not advertisers or corporate agendas. Our programming celebrates local culture, social justice, underrepresented artists, and global sounds, creating a rich mix that connects, informs, and inspires.
