About Us
Lucky 13 Rescue is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in Drexel, Missouri, in August 2016. We've relocated to the Kansas City, Missouri area to continue our mission of rescuing and supporting homeless and neglected dogs throughout the Kansas City metro and surrounding rural communities.
We don’t limit ourselves to specific breeds; our focus is on helping any dog in need—whether it’s from neglect, homelessness, abuse, or imminent danger. Our ultimate goal is to rehabilitate each dog in our care by placing them in loving foster homes, where they can heal and thrive until we find the perfect adoptive families for them.
As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a physical facility for intake, so we rely on dedicated fosters to help care for the dogs we rescue. Every dog that comes through our program receives medical attention and behavioral support. They are all spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative before being adopted into their forever homes.
We are always looking for passionate fosters and volunteers to join our efforts! Opportunities exist in online management, transportation, vet scheduling, fundraising, event planning, and of course, fostering.
