501(c) Success with Asha Curran, 92nd Street Y: Lessons Learned in Nonprofit Innovation
A fresh new voice in the field of philanthropy, Asha Curran is Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y, one of NYC’s most prestigious cultural institutions. She is the director of #GivingTuesday, the annual day of giving following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as well as a portfolio of global, digitally-driven initiatives including 7 Days of Genius, the Social Good Summit, 92Y American Conversation, and the Women in Power and Venture Fellowships.
In this 501(c) Success presentation, Asha will share her expertise about the evolution of a creative learning ecosystem; how to build and leverage coalitions and networks; the value of experimentation and growth mindset in the social sector; and lessons learned from growing a successful innovation lab within the 92nd Street Y.
Under Asha's leadership, the Belfer Center is working to scale 92Y's renowned programing by leveraging the power of new and social media, partnerships and collaboration to strengthen and extend the reach of 92Y's core values - intellectual exploration and dialogue, community, thought leadership and innovation as a driver of social change.
Asha is the recipient of the 2015 Social Capital Hero Award and named a 2016 Woman of Influence by New York Business Journals. 92Y was recently named one of the 10 Most Innovative Nonprofits by Fast Company.
A program of the 501(c) Success National Speaker Series which brings prominent thought leaders to Kansas City to discuss the latest nonprofit research and trends.
Full participation in this program is applicable for 1.0 points in Category 1.B –Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
