All-Access Tour at Youth Volunteer Corps
Kansas City is home base for many major companies: Hallmark, Cerner, and Garmin to name just a few. But did you know it's also home base for just as many major nonprofits? Learn more about one of them, Youth Volunteer Corps, during March's Connext event. Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a international nonprofit network that offers youth between the ages of 11 and 18 the opportunity to improve their community through volunteering.
Tour the organization's historic Quality Hill location, a 1874 Italianate Revival house on the National Register of Historic Places, and hear from YVC board member Tristen Caudle on his connection to YVC and YVC Founder and President David Battey on his social entrepreneurship journey. Since founding the organization out of college in 1987, Battey has grown YVC into a network of youth service programs with over 40 affiliates in two countries that reaches almost 7,000 youth annually.
In addition to the tour of YVC, enjoy networking and refreshments with fellow young nonprofit professionals.
