Care Kit Teams

Some of the most basic needs of our clients are food and hygiene products, which are far too often not available. So, round up your friends, neighbors, church families, and/or community members to help support those who need it the most. Create a contest at your school or workplace to make it fun! Large or small, each donation will go to someone in need. This is a great project for individuals who have limited time to share at the agency but want to support our mission. Below are some examples of items needed for our clients. Please feel free to select the items you would like to include in your Care Kit donations. Get creative and have fun planning this with your team, group or family! Care kits will be distributed to clients of Catholic Charities of Kansas City - St. Joseph.

 

• Senior Care Kit – lip balm, hand soap/sanitizer, bathing wipes, nail clipper and fingernail file, toothbrush/toothpaste, incontinence products, hairbrush/comb, moisturizing lotion (especially for dry skin), pill organizer, etc.


• Men’s Care Kit – men’s deodorant, razor and shaving cream, aftershave, lotion, toothbrush/toothpaste, comb or hairbrush, nail clipper and fingernail file, body wash or soap, shampoo and conditioner, etc.


• Women’s Care Kit – women’s deodorant, razor and shaving cream, lotion, nail clipper and fingernail file, body wash or soap, shampoo and conditioner, feminine wipes or no-rinse body wipes, adult sanitary pads or liners, etc.


• Baby Care Kit – digital thermometer, nasal aspirator (bulb syringe), baby nail clipper or fingernail file, gas relief drops, baby-safe sunscreen (6 months and older), teething gel or rings, first aid kit that includes bandages, baby-safe antiseptic), soft baby brush (for cradle cap), diapers, wipes (unscented or hypoallergenic), diaper rash cream (e.g., zinc oxide), baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby body wash, soft washcloths and towels, hooded towel, formula, bottle brush, pacifiers and bibs (cloth and silicone), etc.


• Birthday Care Kit – box of cake mix, jar of applesauce, birthday candles, birthday cake decorations, can of frosting, streamers, balloons, birthday card, birthday wrapping paper, party hats, stickers, etc.

 

We can coordinate a pick-up date/time from your workplace or school. Or you are welcome to drop off donations at our south Kansas City Serve & Lift Center, located at 8001 Longview Road, Kansas City, MO 64134. When you do, we would love to take you on a tour of our new facility and share information with you about our other programming services.
