Pricing Structure
Nonprofit and Business members can post volunteer opportunities and board positions for free.
Individual members and nonmembers can submit their opportunities for $25 per week.
*If you are posting an open board position, make sure to select Board of Directors as your Category. Consider using our board position description template to make sure you provide the right information.
Board Member
Kansas City’s newEar Contemporary Chamber Ensemble is seeking to expand our Board of Directors and volunteer team to help build a vibrant future for new music in our region. If you believe in the power and importance of music by living composers, we’d love to have you involved.
newEar is a professional chamber music ensemble dedicated to commissioning and performing music of our time and providing listeners with unique and stimulating musical experiences that are rooted in artistic excellence and enhanced by educational opportunities. We typically present 4 concerts per year, each with 2 performances, at various venues including All Souls Unitarian Church. We also host the Kansas City Contemporary Music Festival on the first Friday of June in the Crossroads District. newear.org
While we’re proud to have a small paid staff—including an Artistic Director, Production Coordinator, and Bookkeeper—nearly every aspect of our organization is powered by passionate board members and dedicated volunteers. Whether you’re ready to dive in or just curious about how you might contribute, we invite you to fill out this interest form and we’ll follow up to start a conversation about how you can get involved.
What’s the Commitment?

Board Members typically contribute an average of 10 hours per month and we ask that all board members give a monetary donation as well. Most board meetings are held Monday evenings online. Attendance at concerts is expected. Prospective board members will be asked to apply by providing a resume and letter of intent.

Volunteers usually give about 2 hours per month, depending on availability and interest.
We understand that not everyone is in a position to make a major commitment right away. If board service isn’t feasible, we’re equally excited to connect with people interested in occasional or one-time volunteer opportunities.
No matter your level of involvement, your support helps us champion the music of today’s composers and enrich Kansas City’s cultural life.
