About Us
Heartstrings Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meaningful employment and creative opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We own and operate three mission-driven businesses:

  • Goody Delivery – a mobile snack and delivery company
  • Sacks on Santa Fe – a resale and boutique retail shop
  • HeArtfully Made – a creative enterprise producing handmade items such as candles, bath and body products, stocking hats, wreaths, and all-occasion cards
With an annual budget of approximately $2 million, our organization blends social enterprise with philanthropy to create lasting community impact.

Position Summary
The Director of Development is a senior leadership role responsible for planning and executing all fundraising and donor engagement strategies. This position leads contributed revenue efforts including individual giving, grants, corporate sponsorships, and campaigns, and works closely with the Director of Event Management to maximize event-based fundraising.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven fundraiser who is passionate about disability inclusion, storytelling, and building sustainable revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to meet revenue goals
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors
  • Lead grant research, writing, reporting, and compliance
  • Collaborate with the Director of Event Management on fundraising events and sponsorships
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board on major gift strategies
  • Oversee donor database and fundraising metrics
  • Ensure consistent, compelling donor communications and impact storytelling

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
  • Proven success with individual giving and grants
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for working with and supporting adults with IDD
Preferred:
  • Experience in disability services or social enterprise organizations
  • Grant writing success with foundations and corporations
