Life Savers Educator, Part-time

Posted: 10/19/2025

Gift of Life promotes the support, awareness and success of organ, eye, and tissue donation through education, mentoring and collaboration with partners and individuals in the transplant community. Gift of Life offers two signature programs. The Life Savers high school classroom education program empowers students to make informed decisions about organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Each year, Life Savers classroom educators provide presentations that reach more than 40,000 high school students and families in approximately 100 high schools in 15 counties in Greater Kansas City and surrounding area. Presentations are provided free of charge and encourage students to have a conversation with a loved one regarding their decision about organ, eye, and tissue donation.

The team also presents to school boards in Missouri about the importance of organ donation. Life Savers educators and program speakers have a connection to a transplant or donor story and/or are excellent storytellers.

The other signature program is Transplant Mentors, which offers trained volunteer mentors to transplant patients, living donors and their family members and caregivers to provide insight, information, encouragement, and support throughout the transplant process and beyond.

Gift of Life has an amazing team of staff and volunteers. We are a collaborative group that works to deliver excellent programs and results.
