General Counsel

Neighborhood Legal Support of Kansas City is hiring a General Counsel.  The General Counsel will: provide counsel to NLS on all legal issues that the organization faces; oversee all litigation for the organization; handle a substantial caseload of Abandoned Housing Act and related cases; be actively involved in building and maintain relationships with partner neighborhoods; supervise other attorneys working for NLS; and such other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 
The applicant must be a licensed attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate litigation and ideally in Abandoned Housing Act litigation.  The applicant must also have at least 2 years of experience in supervising attorneys.  The applicant also must have a proven ability to collaborate effectively both with co-workers and collaborators outside the organization.
