Video Production Storyteller

Video Production Storyteller (Part-Time)

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art | Kansas City, MO

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking a Video Production Storyteller to create engaging, high-quality video content that brings our exhibitions, programs, and community impact to life.

This role is ideal for a hands-on video producer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong instinct for visual storytelling, especially across digital and social platforms.


What You’ll Do

  • Produce video content from concept through final delivery, including filming and editing
  • Translate creative direction into compelling visual stories that reflect the Nelson-Atkins brand
  • Create short-form, social-first content as well as longer-form storytelling pieces
  • Manage production logistics including scheduling, equipment, and coordination with internal teams
  • Lead on-site shoots and direct contributors as needed
  • Partner with Marketing, Curatorial, and other teams to support museum-wide initiatives
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume production environment

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of professional video production experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating videography and editing skills
  • Experience creating content for digital and social platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving and attention to detail

Compensation

Starting hourly range: $25.85 to $29.10 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.


Additional Details

  • Part-time, benefits-eligible position
  • Some evening and weekend work required
  • Occasional off-site filming
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment
