Position Summary

The Program Lead – Community Business Academy (CBA) is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Community Business Academy and related entrepreneurial support programs.

This role serves as the primary leader of the CBA program and is responsible for participant recruitment, program delivery, community partnerships, entrepreneur support, event coordination, program administration, and outcome measurement. The Program Lead will work closely with entrepreneurs, community stakeholders, funders, volunteers, and organizational leadership to ensure successful program execution and measurable community impact.

The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, systems thinker, educator, community connector, and entrepreneurial-minded leader who is passionate about supporting small business growth and economic development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Management

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of the Community Business Academy and related entrepreneurship initiatives

  • Ensure programs are delivered consistently and in alignment with organizational goals, values, and strategic priorities

  • Develop and implement annual program goals, objectives, work plans, and performance measures

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement and growth

  • Support the development and expansion of entrepreneurship programming and business support services

  • Monitor program outcomes and participant success metrics

Participant Recruitment & Engagement

  • Develop and execute participant recruitment strategies to maintain strong program enrollment

  • Build relationships with prospective participants and community referral partners

  • Guide participants through the enrollment, onboarding, and program completion process

  • Foster a welcoming, supportive, and engaging participant experience

  • Maintain regular communication with program before, during, and after program completion

Entrepreneur Coaching & Business Support

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and resource navigation for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs

  • Support participants in business planning, business operations, growth strategies, and business development activities

  • Connect participants with community resources, lenders, technical assistance providers, mentors, and subject matter experts

  • Identify participant needs and coordinate appropriate support services

Community Partnerships & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, business support agencies, financial institutions, funders, volunteers, and local leaders

  • Represent Greenline Foundation at community meetings, networking events, and stakeholder engagements

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration that enhance program impact and participant success

  • Serve as an ambassador for Greenline Foundation and the Community Business Academy

Event Planning & Program Delivery

  • Coordinate and manage all program-related workshops, classes, trainings, orientations, graduation events, networking events, and community engagement activities

  • Oversee event logistics including scheduling, facilities, materials, technology, presenters, volunteers, and participant communication

  • Ensure a high-quality participant experience at all program events

  • Manage event timelines, budgets, and operational details

Program Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate participant records, program documentation, attendance records, and outcome tracking systems

  • Prepare reports, summaries, and program updates for leadership, funders, and stakeholders

  • Support grant reporting requirements and data collection efforts

  • Assist with program budgeting, expense tracking, and financial monitoring

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and funding requirements

Leadership & Team Support

  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to advance strategic goals and organizational priorities

  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of volunteers, contractors, facilitators, and program support staff as assigned

  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for program-related activities

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and mission-focused organizational culture

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in organizational events and community activities

  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational needs and mission fulfillment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Education, Economic Development, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum of five years of experience in program management, business development, entrepreneurship support, adult education, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, or related experience

  • Experience developing, managing, or delivering programs with measurable outcomes

  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders and community partners

  • Strong project management, organization, and operational planning skills

  • Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, coaching sessions, or educational programming

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a small business owner, entrepreneur, or business consultant

  • Experience supporting startup, small business, or economic development initiatives

  • Experience designing and delivering adult learning programs

  • Familiarity with the Kansas City entrepreneurial ecosystem and community resources

  • Experience working within nonprofit or community-based organizations

  • Experience managing grants, program budgets, or funder reporting requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer

  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, community partners, stakeholders, and staff

  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials, supplies, and event resources up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to travel locally for meetings, events, and community engagement activities

Work Environment & Schedule

This position operates fully on site in a professional office environment and requires consistent in-person attendance during scheduled working hours.

Reports To: Executive Director 
Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, plus Thursdays 6-9 PM to facilitate the Community Business Academy sessions. Additional hours outside of the standard schedule may be required to support organizational events, community activities, meetings, and operational responsibilities. Total weekly hours are expected to average approximately 40 hours per week.

Work Location: 100% On Site
Salary: $65,000-$70,000 annually
