Family and Children's Therapist
Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency seeks a full-time, exempt Family and Children’s Therapist, reporting to the Director of Clinical Services.
This position provides individual and group therapy to children choosing to participate in elective services based on assessment and therapy goal plans. Additional responsibilities include offering a multitude of family enriching activities and maintaining a flexible schedule to provide parenting assistance and crisis intervention.
- Provide trauma-informed, individual family and group therapy services.
- Complete assessment and individual treatment plan based on assessment recommendations as stated by the Quality Assessment standards.
- Advocate and coordinate needed services to children and families of Rose Brooks Center.
- Participate in community collaborations in advocating for children’s services.
- Offer clinical knowledge and expertise on children’s issues.
- Fulfill all requirements of supporting funding sources.
- Provide documentation and electronic records of therapeutic services delivered according to agency standards and professional ethics.
- Professional development and consultation activities.
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and procedures, while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and utilizing the principles of trauma informed care and accessibility; demonstrates a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
- Maintain awareness about the risks of secondary trauma and understand one’s own responsibility of self-care.
- Attend scheduled staff, team and supervisor meetings.
- Participate in all required trainings.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work
- Licensed or license eligible in MO (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT; Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC)
- Two years working in children’s services, preferably in a residential setting
- Registered Play therapist or working toward certification preferred.
- Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and best practices
- Experience providing therapy/counseling sessions, preferably in a domestic violence agency/residential setting and/or commensurate experience
- Experience working with diverse individuals and groups in a culturally competent manner
- Knowledge and experience in trauma informed care
work primarily daytime hours, with 2 to 3 evenings per week. On-call rotation is required for
approximately 1 week/weekend every 10 weeks.
Compensation: This position falls into a range starting at $53,000 annually (exempt).
