Hello 2015!

It’s a great time to live and work in Kansas City. Our community is thriving in so many ways (go Royals!), and Nonprofit Connect has caught the fever as we take our organization to the next level to better serve our members and the greater nonprofit sector.

As I reflect on 2014, I’m proud to report our accomplishments as an organization. Early in the year we unveiled a new and improved website with user-friendly applications and easier program registration. With the new website came a refreshed JobLink, and the numbers to show that the nonprofit workforce is growing! Job postings have increased by 65% over the last year with nearly 2,300 nonprofit jobs posted in 2014. Nonprofit Connect launched ResourceLink, the shared library of articles, sector research, best practices and sample documents available on our website. And we expanded our educational programming to directly engage executive directors and advanced professionals with initiatives like the 501(c) Success National Speaker Series, as well as re-engaged the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Kansas City.

Looking forward to 2015, I’m even more excited about Nonprofit Connect’s strategy to better our services as Kansas City’s trusted and responsive resource for the nonprofit sector. This year we will expand our Career Center to link more people and resources to organizational needs. We recently launched InternLink, the board exclusively for nonprofit internship listings, and will soon launch VolunteerLink, to connect volunteers to organizations in need and BoardLink, to connect prospective board members with compatible nonprofits. We will continue to enhance our online resources including ResourceLink, Member News and Community Calendar so that the Nonprofit Connect website can be your resource for what’s happening in the nonprofit sector. And we will improve our existing professional development programming, as well as explore new topics to address the demands of the ever-changing nonprofit environment. Look for fresh perspectives in the newly developed Human Resources series, Succession Planning and Event Planning intensives, and Board Recruitment & Retention program. Take a peek at what we have planned in our 2015 Program Guide.

We hope you save the date for the 31st Annual Philanthropy Awards Luncheon, and join us as we celebrate the philanthropists, businesses, nonprofit professionals and volunteers that work hard to make an impact in Kansas City. Luncheon Chairs Deanna and Greg Graves look forward to seeing you Friday, May 15 at the Muehlebach for another unforgettable event.

At Nonprofit Connect, our mission is to link the nonprofit community to education, resources and networking so organizations like yours can more effectively achieve their mission. We are so thankful for each and every member of Nonprofit Connect, and always remember that you have a friend and resource in the good work that you do.

Thank you for letting us serve you, and know that we appreciate your dedication to make a difference in Kansas City and beyond. We’re grateful for your continued support, and we can’t wait to see you at a Nonprofit Connect program in 2015!

Together we're better,

Luann Feehan
