Cybersecurity & Building Trust with Donors
Our digital world is filled with scammers, thieves, and data pirates, and they have nonprofit organizations in their sights. System hacks resulting in massive data privacy breaches, ransomware that locks organizations out of their files, social media channels attacked, and websites crashed just for the "fun" of it by bad actors are everyday occurrences now for nonprofits of all sizes. If you're not prepared, you're at risk. But that's the scary side of cybersecurity.
Ask yourself, if we improved cybersecurity could we get more donors? More volunteers? More support?
Join Dr. Kelley Misata, Chief Trailblazer from Sightline Security, as she breaks down the language and complexities of cybersecurity and gives you practical, business-geared approaches that can be employed immediately to improve the safety of the information inside your organization, and help you determine why and how you should prioritize cybersecurity amongst the dozens of other operational activities you are pursuing. Additionally, this session will show you the value that improving data security can have on your fundraising efforts.
It's a new way of looking at cybersecurity, and participants will gain:
● Better understanding of how to balance cybersecurity best practices with what makes sense for your organization;
● Inspiration from case studies about nonprofit organizations that are successfully weaving cybersecurity best practices into their operations;
● Steps you can use to tell the story to donors, funders, and other supporters.
This is a program of The Effective Nonprofit Series.
