KC SuperStar, the annual fundraiser for the Jewish Community Center, now in its 14th year, is an “American Idol” style competition that awards a $10,000 scholarship to the most talented high school singer in Kansas City. Students from all over the Kansas City metro area audition, and 22 singers make it to the semifinals where judges select 10 finalists. The top 10 work all summer long to prepare a high-energy Finals show for our donors who ultimately take part in selecting the winners. Total scholarships and prize money exceeds $22,0000. Semi-finals are June 8th and the Finals are August 27th.
