Public Policy Trends for 2019 with National Council of Nonprofits
As a nonprofit leader in today’s society, do you feel as if you are navigating in unfamiliar or uncertain territory? While you are busy focusing on your nonprofit’s mission, external challenges and public policy changes may be impeding your progress.
Join David L. Thompson, VP of Public Policy for the National Council of Nonprofits, for a look at how external and internal sector trends are rocking the boat. By tracking regional and national trends, the National Council of Nonprofits identifies how policies and practices within the nonprofit community and at all levels of government – local, state, and federal – affect the ability of community-based nonprofits to meet their missions. You’ll leave this session with a better understanding of how these trends impact the nonprofit community, and a stronger appreciation of what it takes to steer your mission through uncertain times.
Presenter:
Prior to joining the National Council of Nonprofits in February 2010, David Thompson served as Director of Government Affairs at Independent Sector. He served in the public sector from 2001 to 2007 as a Senior Counsel and as Policy Director to the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
