St. Michael's Veterans Center Celebration of Heroes
Do you know a community hero who is working to improve the lives of military veterans in Kansas City? Do you know a company, organization or individual who is a true champion for veterans? St. Michael’s Veterans Center is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Celebration of Heroes Guardian Awards, which honors Kansas Citians who put the time, talent and resources to improve the lives of veterans in the community. The Guardian Awards honor community members, organizations and companies who are working to enhance the quality of life of veterans in our community. Award categories include: ? Individual Guardian Awards: Honors community members who directly serve veterans through work as a volunteer ? Organization Guardian Awards: Honors organizations with a mission to improve the lives of veterans ? Corporate Guardian Awards: Honors companies that address employment best practices in attracting, hiring and retaining of veterans in the workplace or support veterans in their communities "Every year the nominations we receive for the Guardian Awards grow more and more impressive. The Celebration of Heroes Guardian Awards is one of the ways we showcase the contributions of Kansas Citians who are taking care of veterans who have served our country," said Susan Engel, Executive Director of St. Michael’s Veterans Center. To submit a Guardian Award nomination, visit www.smvets.org/celebration. Nominations must be submitted by Oct. 15, 2019. Award winners will be honored during the Celebration of Heroes event from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at the National World War I Museum in Kansas City, Mo.
