State Service Commissions - Resources for Your Volunteer Program
Do you know what resources the state service commissions can offer your volunteer programs?
Did you know that Kansas and Missouri both rank in the top ten for volunteerism according to The Corporation for National Community Service? While every state has an agency to administer AmeriCorps programs, Kansas and Missouri are fortunate to have commissions that provide above-and-beyond resources and programming that will help you improve and grow your volunteer program and encourage service in your community. From days of service to small grant opportunities, discover ways your state service commission can help you grow.
Join representatives from the Missouri Community Service Commission and the Kansas Volunteer Commission for an interactive panel discussion on all things volunteer engagement. During this session, you'll learn the purpose behind each state commission, resources offered, and how you can plug in to keep your volunteer program connected across your respective state. Plus, you'll have time to ask your questions to experts in volunteer engagement.
This is a Volunteer Management Track program.
Speaker:

The Missouri Community Service Commission's (MCSC) vision is a Missouri where every Missourian knows they have the ability to volunteer in their community. MCSC was established in 1994 as a direct response to the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993. Each year, over 1.5 million Missourians volunteer in their community. They contribute 133 million hours worth $3.2 billion to Missouri!
The Kansas Volunteer Commission works to develop collaborations and opportunities that build resources and strengthen service, mentoring, volunteerism, and civic engagement in Kansas. Since 1993, the Kansas Volunteer Commission has been promoting community service by administering grants to the AmeriCorps and Volunteer Generation Fund programs in Kansas, strengthening volunteer centers, and encouraging volunteerism and mentoring. The Kansas Volunteer Commission is a program of the Kansas State Department of Education.
