Student Loans - Am I Doing This Right?
With 46 million American borrowers and growing, it seems that there are hardly any professionals who obtained their degree without taking on student loans, young professionals in the region’s non-profit sector included. With so many federal repayment plans and forgiveness programs, changing policies and fast-moving news headlines it’s hard to know what options are a right for you. What’s the difference between federal loans and private loans? What are the various types of loans? How long can I take to pay back? Am I eligible for relief? Consider this online workshop to be your student loans 101.
We know there is no one-size-fits-all solution for providing student debt relief. That’s why Connext, Student Debt Crisis (a non-profit committed to fundamental reform of our nation’s student debt policies) and Savi (a technology startup that helps navigate the student loan field to find savings) are teaming up to help you make sense of it all.
This workshop will help all borrowers--at any point in their student loan repayment journey--to understand their student debt in a clear and meaningful way in order to achieve short term relief and long term freedom. We’ll cover lowering monthly payments, applying for loan forgiveness, important COVID-19 policy updates and have time for Q&A to address individual questions.
Connext members and attendees will be provided access to Savi as a resource to aid them after the workshop. Savi is an online tool and service that helps borrowers better understand their debt, optimize their repayment options, and enroll in the best plan for their financial needs.
