Meet the panelists:
Tahir Atwater is the Director of Development for Jackson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Tahir’s personal and professional mission is: To build and support Equity and Belonging in each space he enters. Tahir’s focus is growing CASA’s volunteer and donor base, while using intentional DEIB initiatives in the agency's growth and outreach strategies. CASA’s vision is to ensure every child that's faced abuse or neglect and involved with the Jackson County Family Court will end up in a safe and permanent home.
Tahir is also a CASA Volunteer. In addition to his work at CASA, Tahir serves as Board Chair for the Non-Profit Connect Board of Directors.
Cheyenne Clonch, SHRM-SCP, is the VP of HR at the Metropolitan Organization Countering Sexual Assault (MOCSA), where she oversees all HR functions. Her experience includes shelter management at Hope House and leading education and outreach at MOCSA. Cheyenne also serves as Secretary of the Board for Nonprofit Connect and volunteers with Prep-KC. She holds a master's degree from Baker University, a bachelor's from Kent State, and numerous certifications, including SHRM-SCP.
Merideth Rose is the President and CEO of Cornerstones of Care. She previously served as Chief People Officer at the Community Services League and directed family services for the Independence School District, where she oversaw social workers and case managers. Her background also includes serving as Public Affairs Officer for FEMA, including work on Superstorm Sandy relief. Merideth holds degrees from Park University and has received several accolades, including the 2009 Stanley Fisher Award and being named a 2024 Woman of Influence by the Kansas City Business Journal.
