Support a thriving community with board leadership!

Position Details:

Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council, a neighborhood association, nonprofit organization, community development corporation, and location of one of the city's six CAN centers is seeking board members for 2025. Applications are available in-person or online and are due August 24th by 2pm. In particular, Ivanhoe is searching for:

  • Entry & mid-level professionals with a passion for community and an interest in board service.
  • Senior & executive-level professionals with knowledge and expertise in real estate development, fundraising/fund development, finance/accounting, nonprofit management, or community engagement. 
  • Non-residents of Ivanhoe (so, folks living outside of Ivanhoe boundaries)
  • Individuals with 3+ years experience serving on a board of directors. 
Online applications can be submitted here. In-person applications can be picked up from the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Center on 3700 Woodland Avenue, KCMO 64109 between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. 


Organizational Overview:

Originally formed in December 1967, the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council represents one of the oldest organized neighborhoods in the Kansas City area. Now a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, community development corporation, and C.A.N. center, Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council provides targeted programming and support services for the youth, family, and seniors of Ivanhoe with the end goal of fostering a clean, safe, and thriving community where residents feel a sense of belonging and safety. Situated on the Eastside of Kansas City between 31st & 47th Street, Paseo to Prospect, Ivanhoe neighborhood is home to ~5000 residents. And while Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council's programming certainly targets the residents of the Ivanhoe neighborhood community, all of the programming and services are open to the general public. Primarily, Ivanhoe provides support services to the residents of Jackson County, MO -- specifically those within a 2 mile radius of the Nutter Ivanhoe Neighborhood Center on 3700 Woodland Avenue.
