Individual members and nonmembers can submit their opportunities for $25 per week.

KC Mothers in Charge Board Member
KC Mothers in Charge is seeking board members to start in January 2025!
Our mission is to reduce violent crime through prevention, education and intervention, and to guide and support the families of victims. 
 

We are looking for board members with a passion to make an impact on violence reduction in Kansas City. If you are seeking a Board Member role that utilizes your enthusiasm for supporting local initiatives, want to support a collaborative work environment, and have time for regular board and committee meetings, then KC Mothers in Charge wants to hear from you! We are working to build our KC Community safe for all, where families are empowered and supported.
 
KC Mothers in Charge was founded after our Founder and Program Director, Rosilyn Temple, lost her son, Antonio “Pee-Wee” Thompson, to homicide in 2011. Since his death, she has dedicated her life to helping others. You can join our committed team to make a difference in Kansas City!
 
Staff and volunteers conduct the following services:
  • Homicide scene support
  • Vigils
  • Weekly phone calls
  • Home visits
  • Counseling
  • Support groups
  • Funeral home visits
  • Criminal justice system navigation
  • Neighborhood canvassing
  • Meet-and-Greets
  • Community presentations
