Family Support & Community Outreach Volunteer

Offer Valid: 03/15/2026 - 12/31/2026
Help us stay connected with families impacted by violence and strengthen support across Kansas City.

KC Mothers in Charge is seeking compassionate volunteers to assist with family support calls and community outreach.

Our organization responds to homicide scenes to provide immediate crisis support to families facing the unimaginable. But grief does not follow a schedule. Many families are not ready to seek help in the first days or weeks after a loss. Often, the hardest part comes months later when the attention fades and life moves forward for everyone else.

That is why we stay connected.

Volunteers help us call families we have previously served to check in, offer continued support, and reconnect them with services such as support groups, counseling, and community resources. These calls remind families that they are not forgotten and that help is still available.

Volunteers may also assist with community outreach events throughout the Kansas City area. At these events, volunteers help share the mission of KC Mothers in Charge, connect with families who may need services, and advocate for safer communities.

No special background is required. What matters most is compassion, reliability, and a willingness to stand with families affected by violence.

Training and guidance will be provided.
