About NCircle

NCircle is a Kansas City–based nonprofit dedicated to Connecting people to community opportunities to end cycles of incarceration and stabilize families and futures. NCircle has been working at the intersection of workforce and reentry since 2011 and was formalized as a 501c3 in 2016.  Since then, our agency has grown.  Today, NCircle employs 4 fulltime staff and 2 contractors and has a half million-dollar annual budget. NCircle is funded by state and county grants, contracts with private industry employers, major donors and individual giving.  Our agency has operations throughout the greater metropolitan area.  Through workforce development, mentoring, and educational partnerships, NCircle serves over 350 adults and youth annually, helping them to navigate barriers to employment and community reintegration. Our programs emphasize hope-centered, strength-based development and measurable workforce readiness outcomes, helping participants build sustainable careers and stable lives.

Position Summary

NCircle seeks a Board Member with expertise in fund development to support the organization’s growth and long-term sustainability. This board member will provide strategic leadership in fundraising and donor engagement while working collaboratively with the Executive Director, board members, and NCircle’s Grants Manager to expand philanthropic support for NCircle’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the organization cultivating, and stewarding major donors and philanthropic partners
  • Help expand NCircle’s network of corporate, foundation, and individual supporters
  • Assist with vision for fundraising events and donor engagement activities
  • Advocate for NCircle’s mission in the community and introduce potential partners or donors

Desired knowledge

  • Grants and Foundation relations
  • Nonprofit development strategy and donor management
Candidates should also bring a passion for strengthening communities and expanding opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment.

Board Member Expectations

  • Attend regular board meetings, NCircle board meets every other Month
  • Participate in committee meetings on the “off” months between board meetings
  • Serve as an ambassador for the organization in the community
  • Contribute time, expertise, and professional networks to advance the mission
  • Make a personally meaningful annual financial contribution, NCircle does not have a minimum financial obligation
  • Uphold the organization’s values of integrity, dignity, accountability, and community connection

By joining the NCircle Board of Directors, this member will help expand resources that support workforce development, mentoring, and education programs for individuals seeking stability, employment, and renewed opportunity.
