Pathway To Hope Board and Committees

Mission: To serve people struggling with mental illness by empowering individuals and families through support and education.

Role Summary:
Pathway To Hope’s Board of Directors governs the organization’s mission and ensures its long-term sustainability. Board members contribute their skills and expertise to manage organizational finances, oversee programs, and support the Executive Director in implementing day-to-day operations. As ambassadors of PTH, board members also play a crucial role in fundraising and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
Governance and Oversight:
Attend quarterly board meetings (2-3 hours each) to review programs, set policies, and approve committee work.
Serve on at least one standing committee (e.g., Internal Affairs, External Affairs, Governance, Development) and participate in monthly or bi-monthly meetings as needed.
Ensure the organization adheres to 501(c)(3) nonprofit regulations and meets all federal, state, and local requirements.
Monitor organizational finances and uphold fiduciary responsibilities.

Strategic Guidance:
Contribute to the development of long-term priorities and goals for PTH programs.
Collaborate with other board members to evaluate and improve organizational effectiveness.

Fundraising and Advocacy:
Make a personal financial contribution or support fundraising efforts.
Advocate for Pathway To Hope’s mission within the community and help build partnerships and connections.

Attendance:
Consistently attend scheduled meetings and fulfill responsibilities. Board members may be removed if three meetings are missed within a 12-month period.

Qualifications:
Passion for mental health advocacy and alignment with Pathway To Hope’s mission.
Skills in education, management, legal, financial, or nonprofit governance.
Ability to commit time for board meetings, committee work, and organizational advocacy.
Willingness to contribute financially or assist in fundraising efforts.

Time Commitment:
Quarterly Board Meetings: 2-3 hours each.
Committee Work: Monthly or bi-monthly meetings, as needed.
Other Activities: Fundraising events, community engagement, and periodic board retreats.
Terms:

Each term is two years, with the opportunity to serve up to three consecutive terms (six years total).
