Individual members and nonmembers can submit their opportunities for $25 per week.

Art of the Imagination Summer Camp: Storybook Summer

Join The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures for a week full of art, storytelling, and discovery! We are seeking volunteer group leaders to help campers explore two unique collections in the Museum galleries, create art with various mediums while learning techniques from local artists, and build teamwork skills through a group art project. 



As a volunteer you will be responsible for a group of about 5 students as they enjoy their camp experience. Below is more information about volunteering for this week-long event.

  • Camp Dates: Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17, 2026


    • Volunteer time: 12:30 – 4:30pm (Camp runs from 1:00 – 4:00pm)

    • Volunteers must be available for at least 4 of the 5 days.



  • Volunteer Responsibilities

    • Supervise a table of campers, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment

    • Encourage creativity and provide gentle guidance during art projects

    • Help with basic setup, clean-up, and camper engagement



  • Ideal Volunteer Qualities

    • Puts camper safety first

    • Enjoys working with children (grades 3rd-6th)

    • Patient, positive and passionate about the arts

    • A rewarding, creative experience working with young artists!



  • Mandatory Volunteer Training on-site at the Museum (Choose One)

    • Monday, July 6: 2:00-4:00pm

    • Can’t attend training? Still interested? Let us know- we’re happy to work with you on a case-by-case basis.
