American Cancer Society Kansas City Board Membership

The American Cancer Society's Kansas City Chairman’s Circle (CC) is intended to provide a diverse executive leadership forum for advancing the our life-saving mission. This advocacy includes assisting ACS staff by promoting program priorities and informing the public about ACS organizational priorities. Chairman’s Circle members will be asked to assist by advancing mission priorities, securing financial support, recognizing key contributors and building relationships with community leaders.

Our mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Kansas City Municipal Court Friends of Specialty Courts Board of Directors

The Kansas City Municipal Court Friends of Specialty Courts (501(c)3) is looking for board members that want to have a direct positive impact on the lives of those struggling with substance use and mental health issues. Board members will have a role in the distribution of donated funds for specialty court participants to use for necessities that are not covered by grants or court funding.

KCRW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit roller derby sports organization and one of the founding members of WFTDA. We have current openings on our Board, and seek members with a variety of skills & experience, particularly in the areas of legal, financial, real estate, and interpersonal expertise. Since the Folly reopened in 1981, the Grand Lady of Twelfth Street has relied on dedicated volunteers to give their time and keep her shining. Today the Folly hosts over 100 performances a year and the demand for volunteers, both in the theater and the office, is higher than ever. If you wish to share in the common love of music, our history, or just desire to give back to the community in a historically relevant way, we invite you to join our team!

Front Desk Help

We need help greeting and checking in guests along with other administrative front desk duties, including answering phones, emails, and sorting paperwork. This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who wants to interact directly with our guests in a fun, fast paced environment. Telephone, computer, and multitasking skills required. Choose your shift! Hours are 8am-1pm, Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sat

Drivers and Driver Assistants

Flourish is looking for a few folks with flexible weekday schedules to help us get donations picked up. Most shifts are only 1-4 hours and offer flexibility. Help transform lives by driving or assisting our drivers in picking up home furnishings and essentials for families right here in Kansas City. NO CDL required for driver or driver's assistant position. Annual DOT physical required, paid for by Flourish.

Pinnacle Winds, Kansas City's professional concert band, is seeking board members for our Board of Directors. You do not have to be a musician to serve as a board member. However, some affinity for musical art and the value of music would be beneficial. No financial commitment is required for board membership. The minimum commitment is one 60–75-minute meeting every six weeks.
