Position: Accounts Payable Clerk
Department: Finance
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Status: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
Location: 3410 Main Street, KCMO 64111
About the Role:
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our finances are accurate and up to date. Your primary responsibilities will include processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining vendor files, and performing year-end processes. Your attention to detail and efficiency will help keep our financial operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process all accounts payable transactions promptly and accurately.
- Enter, audit, and pay monthly Visa Card statements.
- Review aging accounts payable reports to ensure timely payments.
- Handle monthly recurring bills and remit payments on time.
- Maintain and file incoming W-9 forms and complete outgoing W-9s.
- Prepare, file, and mail annual 1099s in accordance with IRS guidelines.
- Update vendor records and provide monthly checklists and statement reconciliations.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
- Education: High School Degree or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in an entry-level accounting or finance role.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic accounting principles and practices.
- Accurate and speedy data entry.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Soft Skills:
- Clear and professional communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Associate’s degree in accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Personal experience with a disability is a plus.
