Finance/Accounting Director

Finance Director
Genesis School is seeking an experienced full-time Finance Director; responsible for managing all business and financial operations of Genesis school.  The Finance Director provides sound fiscal management in the operation of all financial matters, including the development and management of the school budget, managing procurement to include contracting processes and procedures, and the management of all accounts payable and receivable.  The Finance Director provides assistance and support to the Executive Director and Board to assure the effective and efficient operation of the school. The Finance Director is a key member of the Genesis leadership team, reporting directly to the Executive Director.  The successful candidate will be capable of managing all business and accounting aspects of school operations, including the development, execution and reporting of the annual budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose and direct the execution of the district’s approved financial operations.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and the Board to develop strategic business, investment and financial plans. 
  • Prepare and manage the annual school budget, monitor budget execution and present changes to the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Serve on the Board’s Finance Committee.
  • Examine bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • File all necessary reports, claims, and forms to secure all money due to the district.
  • Assist Departments with the development of their individual building budgets.
  •  Direct the budgetary process in purchasing and supply management.
  • Provide leadership in developing and maintaining the most optimum fiscal programs, operations, and contracted services. 
  • Work with auditors to complete year-end audit.
  • Invest money according to Board policy.
  • Seek bids and monitor the execution of contracts according to Board policy.
  • Keep records of insurable values; coverage’s to be provided, insurance procurement procedures, insurance claims, and reporting. 
  • Supervises personnel in the preparation and submission of school and student information through the Missouri data collection system.
  • Establish and monitor the execution of effective internal control procedures.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
