Coordinator of Meetings & Committees

Come join the team at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) as their Coordinator of Meetings & Committees. This unique opportunity allows you to be a vital ambassador for the organization within our membership community. We are seeking a detail-oriented, member-focused professional to coordinate all Section & Committee meetings and activities. In this highly visible role, you'll interface with influential community leaders and members while ensuring our events and initiatives are executed in alignment with our values, vision, and mission.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to socialize and greet attendees professionally
  • The ability to problem solve and think independently
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective ongoing relationships
  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs, as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with event setup/teardown
  • Ability to travel to conferences
 

ABOUT THE WORK:

As our Coordinator of Meetings & Committees, you will:
  • Support Section & Committee Operations
    • Schedule and coordinate all section meetings, including creating events, tracking RSVPs, and managing catering needs
    • Prepare agendas and minutes when directed
    • Compile monthly Section reports for KCMBA Board meetings
    • Handle registration and basic bookkeeping
    • Serve as a resource on programs, services, budgets, and policies
    • Support annual leadership nominations and orientation
  • Manage Major Events
    • Coordinate the Annual YLS Golf Tournament
    • Support Law Week events including Ask-a-Lawyer Telethon and Naturalization Ceremony
    • Assist with the Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair
    • Support the 5k VeteRun
    • Assist with The Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference, KCMBF Gala, and KCMBA Annual Meeting
  • Support Meeting & Event Facilities
    • Give facility tours and arrange room layouts
    • Coordinate audiovisual equipment and catering needs
    • Maintain professional communication with all parties before, during, and after events
    • Ensure exceptional visitor experiences and immediate resolution of any concerns
You will report to the Assistant Executive Director and be a significant contributor to the success of the KCMBA and its foundation, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation (KCMBF).  

KCMBA offers a full and robust benefit plan including generous holidays and PTO, Health (Medical, Dental and Vision) plans, paid parental leave, 401K match, profit sharing and even a bonus potential.

Salary for this role starts at $40,000 annually. Your salary may vary based on your experience. Offers are contingent upon a background and credit check.
