Receptionist

JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for the primary front desk receptionist activities such as answering phone calls and transferring to various departments, checking emails, fax reports for adult medical department and pediatric department, page employees and visitors as needed. Direct guest to elevators restrooms and other areas of the building as needed. Update lunch coverage as needed regarding task, tours etc. maintaining security and safety by following procedures, monitoring daily patient logs, issue visitor stickers and kids’ stickers, confirm receipts of daily schedule for new patients from admissions. Ensure new patient sign in sheet at desk, responsible for clean reception area, stocked supplies including mask, tissue, and hand sanitizer. Responsible for ensuring stamp machine is updated with postage. Contact staff when packages arrive. Distribute mail upon arrival. Responsible for keeping copy machine/fax with paper. The receptionist will have additional office assignments that may include, but not limited to, working with documents for purchase orders, payments and receipts and/or department-based clerical assignments. All duties require maintaining patient/client confidentiality as required by Ability KC policies and procedures. The receptionist works directly with department leaders, managers, supervisors and support staff to deliver services among all departments. Will perform other job duties as necessary or assigned. Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential requirement for this job. Complete training courses as required. Ability KC purposefully provides integrated services to support the mission in building brighter futures for individuals with disabilities and their families and caregivers. Reception staff regularly support responsibilities across programs and departments.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent, associate’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated 2-3 years of work-related experience in a health care office or business office. desired. Desire 2-3 years of communications proficiency in word processing, software tools. i.e. EMR Systems, Teams Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook tools. Demonstrated initiative to grow within all aspects of responsibilities.
PREFERENCES: Experience working within a healthcare-based organization and knowledge of associated regulatory protocols, electronic medical record systems, and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
