Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10am-6pm
Overview:
Journey to New Life (JTNL) is seeking a dedicated and personable Reentry Program Receptionist to join our team at our main office. This is a full-time, on-site position scheduled Monday through Friday from 10am-6pm. As the first point of contact for clients, volunteers, and guests, the receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and respectful environment. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life. Individuals with lived experience of incarceration are strongly encouraged to apply.
About Journey to New Life:
Journey to New Life is a peer-led reentry organization supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. We provide comprehensive wrap-around services, including emergency assistance, housing support, case management, employment assistance, and peer mentoring. We also advocate for systemic change to combat discrimination and improve policies affecting justice-involved individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the face of JTNL by greeting all visitors warmly and professionally
- Provide hospitality (e.g., offering water, sandwiches, or coffee) to clients and guests
- Answer and route incoming phone calls; check and return voicemail messages
- Monitor the main email inbox (info@jtnl.com) and forward messages as needed
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with resource materials
- Be familiar with JTNL programs and services to answer questions and provide referrals
- Organize and maintain in-kind donations with volunteer support
- Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and data entry
- Support communication efforts, including social media and flyer creation (preferred)
- Other duties as assigned
- Commitment to JTNL’s mission and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Lived experience of incarceration is a valued asset
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and highly organized
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and basic database tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
Starting pay is $16.50–$18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include a monthly healthcare stipend, access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a generous time off policy that includes paid time off (PTO), sick leave, and annual holidays.
