Donor Services Specialist
As part of the donor services team, this position will support donors via phone calls, mail, email, and the donor portal. Must value communication and teamwork while possessing a high level of reliability, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Donor and Corporate Services, and is hourly, nonexempt. There will be a training period, of up to 90 days, that requires being in the office Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. After successful completion of training, the schedule will be 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday with two days required in the office.
Essential Functions
- Answer donor inquiries by telephone, email, or other correspondence.
- Process daily grant requests within organizational service standards while executing due diligence for each transaction.
- Assist with coverage of each service inbox and respond accordingly to internal and external clients.
- Provide service support for the online donor portal by assisting donors on how to navigate the system and reset passwords.
- Complete welcome calls for new donors.
- Assist with maintaining the donor portal administrative interface, including exporting grant requests, and maintaining data integrity.
- Prepare and distribute as appropriate letters for the Foundation.
- Accurately update profiles in the FIMS database in a timely manner.
- Daily processing of outgoing mail, including grant checks and donor correspondence.
- Assist in the redemption of charity giving cards as needed.
- Assist with the training of new staff members.
Requirements

An associate’s degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Comfortable with technology and aptitude to learn new databases quickly and navigate between multiple applications easily. Must be proficient in Adobe and MS Office products, specifically Word and Excel. Preference for candidates with experience in Salesforce database management.

Ability to apply, present, and manage within relevant financial principles and data.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret a variety of instructions and procedures; operate within current industry best practices.

Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and successfully communicate verbally and in writing.

Possess operational level of financial acumen and ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to operate a highly collaborative environment, while able to work independently and be self-motivated.
