Advancement Director

The Advancement Director creates, implements, and administers programs that enhance the image of St. Pius X High School. The Advancement Director coordinates activities related to fundraising, alumni and community relations, communications, and marketing of St. Pius X High School and Northland Catholic Schools. The Advancement Director is an integral member of the Advancement Department led by the President. This position will report to the Vice President of Advancement and is a part of the department’s leadership team. They will support and maintain the mission and vision of the school. They must understand and embrace the strategic direction and purpose of the organization. The Advancement Director is a leadership opportunity for an energetic someone with a high energy level and pleasant personality who likes to build fundraising programs. 

Fundraising Responsibilities

The Advancement Director will coordinate the annual fundraising efforts of St. Pius X High School. This includes creating and implementing an Annual Fundraising Plan that includes the Annual Fund, Scholarship Fund & Gala, and Golf Tournament. 

  • Organize, plan, and implement the annual Warrior Gala and the Warrior Classic Golf Tournament
  • Lead and guide the Annual Fund
  • Lead and support the St. Pius X Parents Association in their annual fundraising efforts, providing guidance, coordination, and assistance to ensure the success of the event.
  • Nurture relationships with existing donors and build relationships with new donors
  • Supervise maintenance of donor base and accurate, up-to-date records of gift support

Public Relations Responsibilities

  • Assists with the development of public relations and marketing activities for St. Pius X High School
  • Oversees the planning, writing, and distribution of new releases, brochures, and other publications and advertisements, which promote St. Pius X High School
  • Serve as liaison between the school and external organizations and local businesses with regard to school activities
  • Oversees St. Pius X’s official social media channels and website
  • Develops content creation and content scheduling for social media accounts

Northland Catholic Schools

  • Maintain and enhance programs that will continually improve the image of the Northland Catholic Schools
  • Maintain the NCS Social Media Sites
  • Produce an annual magazine for the Northland Catholic Schools
  • Chair the NCS Marketing Committee

General Administrative Duties

  • Provide administrative support to the president and principal when requested
  • Organize and oversee general advancement activities
  • Serves as liaison for faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and other volunteers for all advancement activities related to St. Pius X
  • The Advancement Office helps coordinate various events in conjunction with other administrative team leaders during the year. They include, but are not limited to: Anniversary Mass, Faculty/Staff Christmas get-togethers, National Honor Society Breakfast, End of the year luncheon, Luncheon for Northland parish priests & principals

Service to Alumni

  • Supervise the maintenance of complete and accurate alumni records
  • Provide support for alumni activities such as reunions and meetings
  • Coordinate regular communications with alumni through the newsletter
  • Develop alumni activities that keep alumni in contact with the school
  • Communicate school plans and needs to the alumni
  • Coordinate annual alumni get-together in conjunction with the homecoming
  • Pursue development of additional alumni activities
  • Plan and implement the Alumni Commemoration Mass
  • Plan and implement Senior Send Off and provide support to Graduation planning
Requirements
  • Fundraising experience or relevant business/volunteer experience
  • Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative and a team player
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources
  • The ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Active listening, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Google Docs/Drive, Canva, Adobe Creative Suites, Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), an aptitude to manage a database, ability to perform mail merge and experience with Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree

Job Type: Full time salaried 12 month position with reduced office hours in June and July.
